Choice of Trailer

Our group has decided to create a highlights trailer so that we would be able to show the plot line of our horror trailer. The plot is a key feature which is shown in psychological horror and is therefore important as we have chosen a hybridized genre of psychological and gore.

In our trailer we will use these horror conventions:
·         Creepy Location – we will be filming in the woods of a remote location at night
·         Body Horror – due to our hybridized genre there will be body gore
·         Collision Cutting – we intend to have more than one jump scare
·         Handheld Camera – we are going to use a handheld camera when a person is attacked
·         Point of View Shots – when a person is attacked we will use POV shots to show the killer and drag the camera backwards like the person is being dragged.
·         Lots of Close Ups – To create a sense of claustrophobia and panic.
·         Psycho/Serial Killer – the audience won’t know which girl is the serial killer but will know that they are mentally unhinged.
·         Flipping character representation – The male hero will be the first victim and the audience won’t know who the female, serial killer is.
·         Fear of Death/Violence – The characters are scared of dying

·         Loneliness Theme – The characters fear of each other will isolate them entirely during the trailer.
